News of your visit couldn’t have come at a better time. The past few weeks have been especially busy, as we receive our final project assignment. Amidst the late nights at studio and stressful critiques, it’s easy to lose the sense of time. At this school where everyone is preoccupied with progress, you cease to live in anything but the present and beyond. Yet when I heard that you were coming to Taiwan , the reality of time suddenly returned.
It has been fifteen years since I was that little girl struggling through Peter and Jane. Now I am in a city that I never expected to be in, studying a profession I never considered. The past three years have been a great growth spurt prompted by inspiration, passion, awe, and even fear. It is here that I realized though conditions and events shape us, people remain the most profound impact.
A professor’s words may leave an impression as concrete as a fingerprint, or it may be a provocative seed that will germinate some day. When my mother asked me to recall how your classes have changed me, I could not specifically tell her an incident. But I strongly believe it was your stern dedication and uncompromising expectations that established my discipline in learning -- a habit which has served me in architecture. Thank you, and though my gratitude comes a little late, it is only more meaningful now that I can fully appreciate the fruit of your labor.

您來訪的消息來得正是時候。過去幾個禮拜因為期末作業特別的忙碌，穿梭在深夜的工作室和繁重的作業評論間特別容易失去時間感。在學校裡大家都全心追求超越自己不斷進步時，我們只為眼前和未來不停奔馳，而當我知道您將來到台灣，時間把我拉回了現實。
距離那個辛苦讀著Peter and Jane的情景已經過去十五年了。現在我身在一個從沒預期會來到的城市，學習一門我沒有想過的專業。過去三年來學習上的突破，是靈感、熱情、敬畏甚至恐懼所激發出來的。這三年的求學中，讓我真正體會到儘管外在環境塑造了現在的我們，但是我們更深受"人"的影響。
教授的一席話可能深深的印在腦海中，也能埋下讓思想發芽的種子。當媽媽問我十五年前在您的課堂中是什麼改變了我，我當時無法告訴媽媽具體的一刻。但是我深信，是因為您在教育上的堅持和不妥協的期望建立了我在學習上的自律。這個好習慣在建築訓練上十分受用。謝謝您！即使我的感謝遲了這麼多年；不過也是經過了這段時間，我才能完全了解您辛勤的付出。
